IMPORTANT: The Hang is no longer produced. Felix and Sabina from PANArt are now focusing their efforts on a new instrument called the Gubal. Sending a letter to them is now to show your interest for the Gubal. A Hang can now only be bought second hand – please read below for additional information.
Buying a Hang is what can be called a quest of the modern days. One cannot go to the local music store to purchase one. Basically, there are 2 ways of obtaining one:
- Sending a letter to Felix and Sabina from PANArt stating why you want a Hang. Before doing this, you should carefully read about the story of the instrument and its philosophy. If they like your letter, you will be invited to Berne to meet them and choose your instrument.
- There is also a second hand Hang market. Unfortunately, second hand instruments are often very expensive (more expensive than if bought new), and sometimes not in a very good state. Furthermore, Felix and Sabina are not willing to retune second hand instruments (other tuners will do it, but you will have to send your instrument to them or go and meet them). A second hand Hang can cost anything between 2,000 and 10,000 Euros. Finally, please beware of internet scams, always meet potential sellers and asses the quality of what they want to sell to you!
